As a preface, I first interacted with Craig Cleveland during another superb sales transaction when he sold me my very first Medicare Advantage Plan while he and I both resided in Melbourne, Florida, and he was working as an agent for United Healthcare. Craig and I exchanged telephone numbers professionally, and he informed me that he was relocating to Hilton Head Island, but I really did not glean why until later, when I contacted him one day, and he informed me that he just obtained his real estate license on “the Island”. I used to have a $500,000 inheritance, so it has been easy for me to own 3 properties in my lifetime despite my poor money handling and then in turn losing the properties by not being able to pay the association dues or the property taxes due to my low income, being that I am on SSDI or Social Security Income. Okay, so back in 2013, I sold my house of 10 years and decided I would buy a nice condo in Pristine and a high-class beachside property in Melbourne. Not a bad move, but the $400 association fees wiped me out, and I got foreclosed upon, and I had to move out. I started traveling all the way across the country in a very bad car, all the way to Washington State, and I only made it to Houston, TX. I successfully bought a junky condo in Houston, but it broke down and needs a lot of work. Got it for about $68,000. I was still manic at the time and doing erratic things, and I contacted my savior again, Craig Clevland, and he convinced me to get my escrow money back of $5,000 from the condo in Houston, fill up my tank of gas, and drive to Bluffton, where he had some beautiful condos to pick from under $70,000. This was back in 2015. Now the same condos go for almost $300,000. Too bad I could not stay in Bluffton due to health concerns. Anyway, Craig and I got together and picked the perfect immaculate condo at 897 Fording Island Road #2510, Bluffton, SC 29910. We had at least 4 choices back then, with all affordable prices. Just to point out, Craig is an expert negotiator. He was able to get my future condo down from in the $70,000 range to about $68,000, if I remember correctly. He had to do this for me because I was running out of money and could hardly have afforded anything, and would have to rent an apartment. Lastly, Craig knew I needed to generate more capital to present the $10K check to our closing agent, Rob Going. I had bought a $20,000 car (yes I know this was a bad idea), but Craig said I have to go drive back to Florida and obtain the title so that I could drive back to Bluffton and a very reputable Honda dealership, trade in my nice car, and get a lesser one, so I could get some money back on the trade and contribute to the real estate deal. The funny thing is that the salespeople at Honda could not understand why Craig and I were fighting over pennies, but they did not know every dollar counted, so I could close on my stellar property in Bluffton, SC. Craig knew all of the Math in his head and calculated every out for me so I would know how to negotiate with the car salespeople and not to expend too much money on food and hotels. With Craig's help, I got my gorgeous condo, only about 1000 sq ft, but the décor, fixtures, and anything else I can’t explain without showing you some pictures. It was the greatest loss of my life. I had something special, and my real estate agent, Craig Cleveland, did such a great job. I will recommend him to anyone coming to the Island or Bluffton to purchase Real Property. I give Craig 5 stars!
